Maps and travel

Pin places on a picture or a drawing of your world, draw routes with distances and modes, and let the travel check measure journeys against them.

A map holds places (profiles of kind place or city) as pins on a picture you upload or a drawing you make, and routes between pinned places.

Make a map#

Open the maps of a book and make one. Give it a name, optionally a picture, a size in map units and how many kilometres one unit is. A map can belong to one book or be shared.

Pin and route#

  • Pin a place at a position. A pin has a label.
  • Route two pinned places. A route has a distance (measured on the map, or given in kilometres), a mode (walk, horse, bicycle, car, train, boat or plane) and a label.
  • Draw strokes on the map to sketch coastlines and borders.

Why it matters#

The travel check (C2) compares how long a character takes between two scenes with the distance and the mode of the route. Without routes it cannot judge a journey. Where a place is located_in another in the profiles (an inn in its town), it counts as part of it.

Plans#

World maps are part of every plan.
