Beta readers

Send beta readers a link to a frozen version of your book, collect comments on the exact paragraph, reply and resolve, and revoke the link.

Updated 17 October 2026 · View as Markdown

A reader link opens a frozen version of the book without signing in.

Choose a version (or let Author save one now), the chapters to include (all by default), a mode (comment or read), a label for who it is for, and optionally a number of days until it expires. The address looks like /r/<token> and is shown once. Copy it then.

What a reader does#

A reader selects words and comments, adding their name. They do not need an account, and they see only the frozen version and only the chapters you chose.

What you do#

  • Read the comments as threads, with the quote, the reader's name and the scene.
  • Reply: the reader sees your reply under their comment.
  • Resolve a comment, or reopen it.
  • Delete a comment.
  • Revoke the link when the round is over.

Working with versions#

Make a new link for each round, then compare the versions behind them in Versions and diffs.

Plans#

Beta readers are part of every plan.
