# profiles

Author keeps a snapshot of each linked Geenius OS profile, so a book opens and checks without a network call. This tool brings the snapshots up to date and lists them.

Call it as `geenius_author(tool: "profiles", action: "<action>", args: {...})` through Geenius OS.

## Actions

| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| `sync` | Read the profiles from Geenius OS now (it also runs by itself when the snapshots are more than ten minutes old, and before any action that names a profile). |
| `list` | The snapshots in this workspace: id, rev, kind, name and summary. Optionally filtered by kind. |
| `status` | When the last sync ran and whether it failed. |

> Ask for the exact arguments of any action with `action: "help", of: "sync"`. The server answers from its own definitions, so that answer is always current.
